Le Mal Afrique – Beauty ever ancient and ever new…
The Le Mal Afrique collection designed by jeweler, Joseph Knight, takes its inspiration from the Sicilian philosophy of Bella Brute (the beautiful and the ugly). This unique collection marries Ancient African Glass trading beads dating from the early 1600s to the turn of the 20th century with diamond encrusted ball clasps, vintage Art Deco and Edwardian diamond clasps, and simple sterling silver or gold clasps. Mr. Knight takes rough beads; some buried for centuries in the rich African soil and gives them new life with glittering diamonds. The sublime contrast is a wearer’s delight.
